what i believe

this, given in reply to someone talking about ghosts, is very likely the best ‘in a rather lumpy nutshell’ summary of what i believe that i have ever managed. hence, placing it here.

i do not believe in ghosts.

what i do believe is that the law of entrophy and thermodynamics are the beginnings of our understanding of something that is both foundation and key — from which all things rise and into which all things fall.

what i further believe is that since energy never ends, only changes form, that is it completely within the realm of both possibility and believability that entire universes exist ‘under our noses’ and we never know it.

in addition to this, i believe the concept of the multiverse will eventually be proven more than theory, and in it, that all choices, all paths, and all possibilities exist until the moment in which we, as subjective beings, choose which we will find to be ‘reality’. that, quite literally, not only do we create our reality, we actively shape it simply by the act of choice (though that act occurs on much more than the conscious level and likely incorporates things we are not yet aware of that span every science of which we are aware and quite a few we haven’t even seen or encountered well enough to conceptualize as yet).

i further believe that all the infinite possibilities we will never know continue, unfold, and are precisely as real in alternate dimensions (the path untaken, etc) but because we are cursed with subjective senses and a mind that can only know the present moment or choose to remember past ones (even if most often inaccurately) — WE never ‘know’ it. Nor can we.

i believe it is through this that the eventual realization of both time travel and ultimate reality will be realized, and i believe that near or at the time such things occur, on some far flung future day likely long, long, and long after i have ‘died’, we will experience a quantum evolution that is as deep as it is broad, and through which we, too, will become beings of energy that may or may not manifest in any number of ways into what we know now as ‘the real world’.

some of which are often referred to as ghosts.

so there. (grin)
