well, it seems the floodgates have opened. today, after over a month of silence, several responses and inquiries for work. hurray! unfortunately, most are contracts that i cannot take (instability), but one is a response from a government agency requesting that i go in for a fingerprinting and background check. this is a very positive thing!

oddly, ironically, the only stability left in the workforce is government work. i chuckle to myself remembering the three-year contract i had to turn down in Austin circa ’02 for lack of a place to live. i remember thinking very morose thoughts indeed because i knew that were i able to take that contract, i would soon find permanent government placement and thus, the search for job security would, at last, be realized.

i am optimistic about this response. the intake processing is scheduled for october 10th. i have no idea what facility they will want me to work in, but am hoping it is not too far from home, as traffic is perpetually snarled here in the mornings. but… i suppose that’s what coffee and music are for… and grin as i remember mornings in traffic spent ‘be-bopping out’ to favorite tunes and bringing smiles to the faces of other commuters as i did so.

never had any issue with cutting the fool to make someone smile. nosirreebob.

yes. the sun is shining and i am smiling. here, in this moment, many things, and all good.
