ran errands. picked up groceries. new collars for the cats, as they’ve outgrown the old ones. new toys. bah. worse than kids and i can’t resist the thought of them gamboling around. brought it all home. collars not yet on, have let them enjoy a day of uncollared freedom. heh.
the toys were an excellent choice. one in particular has zen hopelessly addicted. simple thing, really… metal hooks with plastic over them that grasp the doorframe, a bungee-ish thread secured to the hooks, and a little soft-fur mouse on the end.
set it up when i got home about two hours ago. she is still wearing it out. actually, i think it will wear her out. amusing to watch though… she plays with it until she is literally panting… then lays on her side and catches her breath… then rushes it for another bout.
kharma has ignored it completely. or perhaps knows better than to try and interrupt zen, as she is the dominant of the two.
it occurs to me that i recognize zen’s behavior. maybe that’s why it is so funny to me. i’d tell you more about it, but there’s this fuzzy mouse of a goal dangling over there and i’ve finally got my breath back enough to once more tackle it.
