native wisdom

one of the most beautiful tribes i’ve found at tribe.net is the sky pueblo.

it is of deep comfort that the manifest truth of what is so often appears and is consistent in its appearance across all ideologies, all religions, all philosophies, and all human, cultural systems.

some time ago, long before i knew of Buddhism or any structured system really, i ‘invented’ for myself a theory that later became one of my first, immutable ‘laws’ of truth and the nature of reality.

it had to do with wonder and with the realization that all things are, in fact, the same in this manner.

at the time, the only constructs i had were monotheism and organized religion. so the initial theory was based in the terms and concepts i knew at that time.

over time, it shifted and was shaped and refined by learning, experiences, study, and contemplation into the diamond that i find it in this moment. the concept itself is deceptively simple, and rests in a syllogism that will seem, i’m sure, obvious to anyone with a background in any given -ology:

there is a supreme commonality, unifying totality, wholly connected, objective, manifest truth,

all systems of humanity contain elements of it,

no system survives in which at least one element is not present.

the interesting thing here is, that as time and learning have contributed, i have discovered this is a pure, pristine syllogism.

from this, another, dependant upon the first and itself, part of a larger syllogism:

all systems containing elements of it are helpful,

all systems lacking any elements of it are harmful,

no system lacking any elements of it survives.

(this last may seem a redundancy, but considering such systems do arise, then fail, it is worth noting, and this is how it is done.) and finally, the third (oh triads!), that lifts it from the realm of usual to extraordinary:

all systems that are helpful, progress,

all systems that are harmful, stagnate,

the purpose of all systems therefore, is progress.

so what are these elements? and why is it that, despite ourselves, this process continues, inexhorably, inevitably, infinitely?

well, for a very eloquent example, i refer to this beautiful tribe mentioned at the beginning of this post:

i’ll write more of it later. i have to get to the grocery store and pet store for supplies before they close.
