i remember now why they call recruiters ‘data pimps’. i just got a call from mine. he’s all in a flutter because monday is a holiday.
well, actually, he’s all in a flutter because monday is a holiday and i haven’t been with them long enough to get paid for it.
it means that they can’t bill the client for it. which means he won’t get his however-much-percent-of-the-billable he gets for my work.
naturally, he couldn’t care less if i get paid or not for that day. his comment to me was, ‘i need you to ask if you can either work monday or work ‘four tens’ next week.’
i had to chuckle for it. my direct report is out until friday, so there won’t be word until after then, which makes it rather moot. so all his fluttering over it is for naught…. well, except letting me know very clearly that this is no different that it was 8 years ago when i last did it.
i kind of hope i do get monday off. paid or not. i have that heavy, tired feeling that means i need to just spend an entire day in bed. monday would work beautifully.
hrm. of course…. if monday is a holiday, what does that do to payroll processing?
