someone on the scrytch list wrote to me in email. their signature file was ‘well behaved women rarely make history’. this, a reply to that and a small scrytching in relation to it. the first part, by email (by mistake) and the second, to the list.
aside — while it may be true that well-behaved women rarely make history, it is also true the misbehaved women are rarely remembered well. oddly, the degree to which this is the case seems to largely depend upon whether or not whomever is writing about them had sex with them. *grin*
hrm. no. not the degree to which the person writing had sex with them… there are definitely degrees in sex, but temperature, not completion.
hah.
mental flash, bored housewife, staring at the ceiling, vanilla left to melt at room temperature, 5 degrees from complete as her husband yawns and misses the water while making water… and leaves it on the lowered seat…
where she finds it four hours later, it is now lacing her hamstring. she leaves the bathroom and goes downstairs. makes herself a cup of coffee and takes a mental inventory of the house, astute estimates rolling like thunder through her mind.
four hours later, pitbull attorney loosed, the locks are changed and he has been notified to bring a police escort when he comes to get his things.
she still stares at the ceiling at night. she’s still degrees from completion. but maybe she’ll yet be a misbehaved woman who goes down in history.
or at least, who gets to get up and to go down.
