the multiverse reminds me that assuming is still pointless. heh.
i lost a friend last september that i was pretty sure was gone for good. they’ve re-surfaced, but i cannot tell if my notion that we’re still friends is one they share. so, as usual, i check in, say hello, and wait a couple of weeks.
then, check in one last time and just ask directly because hey… that’s just how i roll. no sense playing games and i deserve a straight answer. if not as a former friend or a friend, then as a human being.
this may sound odd, but i’m beginning to realize that it’s ok to ask for what i need. in fact, i think maybe one of the first and most pointed indicators that something is wrong rests in situations where one is told that is ever ‘wrong’ or ‘bad’.
man. do i have a lot of reprogramming to do.
better late than never! =/
