Saturday summary

Tomorrow, I go to see another house. Single level, hardwood floors, two car garage, close to the ferry; all the things I need. Interestingly, I find I am becoming rather blasse about it; four houses I could have loved to live in, all shot down for either bidding wars or impossible repairs and stairs, I’m getting out of the idea that I’m going to find a dream home and starting to settle into the notion of getting a good home.

Ah, pragmatism. Part of me is sighing, “Why should this be any different?”, but most of me is still happy to think of money not being wasted on rent, tax benefits, etc.

So. We’ll see how tomorrow goes.

In other news, I’ve bagged up a good bit for the local thrift store today. I realized during a conversation with someone last week that I’m overdue for my six month roundup. So I knocked it out today and actually feel better for doing it. The feeling of becoming “heavy” with stuff was starting to gnaw at me and I didn’t recognize it until I put the last bag by the door. Relief. Heh. Go figure.

I made a last-ditch effort in relation to a recent mess and find it receives the same result – nothing. So, boxing it up along with a few, more recent things and prepping for some cast-offs internally as well. Consider me grinning somewhat wryly at the parallels.

Not much more, really. About to turn in for sleep and we’ll see how the house thing goes tomorrow.
