today is the first anniversary of the first moment on the path. and in tender and loving ways, the universe sends me gifts of deep meaning, special significance, and beauty.

at one of the online communities in which i am intermittently present, someone asked what our metaphors for life were… this, my reply, set here as memory and reminder.
making progress…
a short note to set a marker for this moment. i have applied to ascap after putting it off for a number of years. i’m ready to do more than talk about it. i’m doing. it feels remarkable. shopping lyrics will begin as soon as the application process is cleared. i’ve been in touch with the one in nashville and the one in cali that i used to collaborate with… and both are, i think, more excited than i am. heh. groove salad. oh boy. yup. bout time.

of moving on and foolish people
the following item arrives in email, just now, as i’m preparing to head to sleep. someone sent this to me via an anonymous remixer; an email pipe that is fairly certain to be untraceable. it is a copy of an item posted to the ‘scrytch’ mailing list earlier in december.
on a new year’s eve (and a dream)
i don’t make new year’s resolutions. it’s always seemed odd to me to wait until one day a year, make a bunch of promises, then (usually) immediately break them shortly thereafter.

working with a few new images and the concept of transmuting negativity. adding another to the digital art pile. this item contains numeric symbols relating to Buddhism, specifically, those which deal with the obstructions, the poisons, the eightfold path, and the four states. the shift, left to right, demonstrations the manner in which moving from the five and the three via the eightfold path and maintaining it by four states delivers the outcome for which the piece is titled.
