The Real State of Things (backchannel contemplation)
continuing the reading/study, the following selected for today’s backchannel contemplation…
evening contemplation
it has been an enjoyable day. the first half was preparing for domestic duty (laundry), then to visit with a sister in the Sangha and talk about upcoming events and teachings. we are very fortunate to have His Eminence Garchen Triptul Rinpoche coming to visit, and my root lama, Drupon Thinley Ningpo Rinpoche returns for Losar Puja.
Sangha exchange, thought of comfort
this, an exchange occuring at an e-Sangha, seems something i should remind myself of often for reasons that may be obvious. so, setting it here.
dependent origination (the day’s backchannel contemplation)
This morning’s meditation complete, the following wisdom is the choice for what will be carried in the back of the mind today, for later expressions and writings.
mundane things
the mundane things for which i am thankful in this moment: the manner in which my cats are always purring when i first wake up in the morning; their bodies curled tightly into some curve of me; the way they simply must get in my face and meow when i do open my eyes. that i wake with a smile. that i wake. today’s quote: Spontaneity is being present in the present. the bodhisattava and the bain sidhe ( 2 of n )
this day, many things occurring, many more coming clearer, thanks to the aid of others and the insights given in study and practice. this item, long overdue, set here gently and with mindfulness, in honor of one longly and wrongly begrudged. i would ask forgiveness, but even the sound of my voice is a hated thing. evidence of my own failings and unskillfulness. the past cannot be changed. but the future is infinite possibility. may benefit to all others be without such impediments as have been ignorantly placed by me.
odd and interesting article…
not even going to try and describe it. https://www.wie.org/j32/reincarnation.asp
breathless day…
untrue, of course. but winded nonetheless. my local practicioner-teacher, guru when Rinpoche is traveling, he called me shortly after the last post.
you scrytched my back, i will scrytch yours…
for those unaware, scrytch is a recycling bin for writing. to try and define it more would only define it less. for reasons that would be obvious to any involved, i cannot participate there. nonetheless, i do participate.
