there are times when i feel like a real fool. this is one of them. you know how i’m always kicking myself for being the one to keep trying to keep in touch, for not forgetting people, etc? well damn it if i’m not standing here frowning because i’ve done it again.
wild poets – gone to seed (don’t bother)
a friend of mine reports today that new ‘guidelines’ have gone up at Wild Poets. for those who are not aware of it, i joined the site back about March on the recommendation of a friend from another creative commons collaborative. initially, it seemed a good place and i think i even wrote a nice review of it here. but by April, things had gotten very bizarre and now, here, in August, i have departed in absolute disgust and horror for the choices and activities of the site’s owner and the manner in which he permits abuse of members.

canada bots are on the loose again and thus, the search for another ban plugin. successful, i migrated off htaccess (which was slowing things down and wasn’t quite working as i’d like) and to a nifty little plugin called wp-ban. now, those who are not welcome will receive a notice that says so quite bluntly. in addition, those who are not welcome who are trying to cruise here during their work hours are being advised that the logs are going to be sent to their employer if the hit counter maintained by the plugin goes over 1 hit. one. this […]
