An excellent Friday eve, this. I was able to burn test the memory overnight and this morning, re-slotted the third chip to run it and check for errors. Thus far, no problems. So either the seating/pairing was off or the last chip is the bad one. We’ll see. In other news, an interview late this afternoon for a short term contract. It seems very interesting, so I’m hopeful the hook is set. Again… we’ll see.
All caught up on college coursework for the week (slightly ahead, actually), so I’ve been spending my time over at Quora.Com dabbling in punditry and supportive analysis insights on topics that align with my career interests and experiences. So far, quite enjoyable; I must say, the quality of discourse is much higher than the usual for internet sites. Impressive.
It has been a quiet evening and the only real activity rests in the surprise of once more forgetting the weekly regiment of Magnesium and Vitamin D3. Bah. I’ll take it tomorrow with lunch (and set myself some form of alarm since I obviously forget to do it on a regular basis).
Generally speaking, all is well and I’m enjoying life. Quora is remedying some of the stultifying boredom I’ve dealt with since the layoff; this is a very good thing. (chuckle)
Obligatory haiku for the day (terminology introduction – “ObHaiku”):
I really can focus
But when there is no target
Don’t know what to do
(Aside: I should write about this soon; contemplation on the reality that boredom is its own kind of distraction and the implications to both informal and formal buddhist practice. Trungpa has eloquently spoken on one aspect of this in his writings on Shambhala. I have not found anything else that addresses the remainder of them that I continue to discover. Surely they exist? Hmmm…)
