My thoughts on “Fight Oligarchy” tour stop: Vegas (1st Half Reaction Audio)
I am ignorant too, just like any other human. I mis-named this woman and I should have looked it up before getting started, but the thought was overflowing and I made a call and this is the result. I will do better. My apologies to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Congresswoman for the Bronx and Queens.
A pause, a rest in the meadow
You show true loyalty when you remain dedicated to those who are not dedicated to you. Being rejected doesn’t mean you must reject in turn. One may remain loyal even when all others have forsaken. One does.
Ah, bow dee chee tah
I want to sacrifice myself spread-eagle on a mountaintop; flesh-freed and soul-lifted, flit into the trees, the sky I ponder immortal impossibilities content myself with the 2nd law never dying, shifting forms, a return to the place before I was born The pun of the vas defer ens: halls of the fathers, I smile; life is rarely solemn, too busy bubbling for egress, release The vast differences of life diversity in which rests strength; a lesson that sapient, mammal apes seem oddly loathe to embrace By thinking, too inured to think; in thinking, too short of sight; myopic multitudes, among […]
Yet another reason I know I made the right choice
As you may know if you read here, I recently decided to change jobs/companies and began with a new company in February. Among the many reasons I did not and will not share, I now have another to add which I will share, as I am sitting here both astonished and disgusted (though, admittedly, given the many reasons for this change, I probably should not be surprised). While with this previous company, I opened an FSA account. The account was funded fully by my own contributions, with no employer contributions or matching. Having experienced the benefit of being able to […]
Friday Eve Update
An excellent Friday eve, this. I was able to burn test the memory overnight and this morning, re-slotted the third chip to run it and check for errors. Thus far, no problems. So either the seating/pairing was off or the last chip is the bad one. We’ll see. In other news, an interview late this afternoon for a short term contract. It seems very interesting, so I’m hopeful the hook is set. Again… we’ll see. All caught up on college coursework for the week (slightly ahead, actually), so I’ve been spending my time over at Quora.Com dabbling in punditry and […]
Health update…
A good day all around; the recount from May: – Weight is down 63 pounds (from 250 to 187) – Triglycerides are down from 527 (!!) to 153 – Hemoglobin A1C down from 10% to 5.6% – Average glucose count down from 384 (!!) to 121 The blood work today should be back from the lab by the beginning of next week. When it is, if the above numbers have improved (the Doctor is certain they will, as am I), I’ll likely be leaving off the Tricor and halving the Metformin. This is great success. And if I keep going […]
Advice from the heart continues, soon…
A brief note to apologize for the delay and advise that I’ll be returning to this series this weekend. (Work has me by the throat and these deserve mindful attention. I hope you understand. Thanks.)
on huna (or not-huna, as the case may be)
I find the following very interesting because there is some controversy over its origin, the culture it seems to want to emulate, and the fact that the teachings it espouses are not so much hawaiian as they are a combination of hinduism/buddhism/shaktism/janism. very intriguing because without the superfluous attempt to make it a ‘hawaiian’ thing, it’s actually pretty deep and, in my personal experience, very, very potent as a system of operation. according to its practitioners, it’s a hawaiian system. according to history, it is a 1930’s invention that co-opts hawaiian terms (and most of them, incorrectly) to define its […]
entangled
Quantum entanglement is a quantum mechanical phenomenon in which the quantum states of two or more objects are linked together so that one object can no longer be adequately described without full mention of its counterpart — even though the individual objects may be spatially separated. This interconnection leads to correlations between observable physical properties of remote systems. (the above, courtesy of wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_entanglement) It has occurred to me for some time that kamma (karma) operates in a fashion very similar to this. In fact, I believe there may be a strong case for the assertion that ALL life operates […]
