Half past noon, from distance

half past noon, sixteenth the light of my life came forth yet I am shadowed struggle over years gone unrecognized only the mistakes made into these bricks a wall between two beings such selfish mortar does not life hurt all no being without such pain you think you’re alone hands once reached through brick slapped away incessantly old dogs learn new tricks distant uncaring be careful what you wish for all life has limits lessons returning time and the years will teach you all you now avoid time comes for us all I cannot be immortal so I tell you […]

Midweek haiku chain blah blah blah

The weight of Fall breeze, Soft drift, the ash of old fires, Sent to the four winds Like my tale of life The shape of all things to come Crafted by what was But for those times when, As Atlas, my shoulders shrug… Weight of world, falling Drifting like the ash To rest quietly on ground Inertial gasp Spin of time, passing, Cycles turn replication Occasionally But me? I just feel tired.

YAHC (Yet another haiku chain)

Friday Eve Update

An excellent Friday eve, this. I was able to burn test the memory overnight and this morning, re-slotted the third chip to run it and check for errors. Thus far, no problems. So either the seating/pairing was off or the last chip is the bad one. We’ll see. In other news, an interview late this afternoon for a short term contract. It seems very interesting, so I’m hopeful the hook is set. Again… we’ll see. All caught up on college coursework for the week (slightly ahead, actually), so I’ve been spending my time over at Quora.Com dabbling in punditry and […]

(chuckle) That’s the day by which “my fella” should be here rather than thousands of miles away in Georgia. The combination of job hunting, the recent holidays, and the college break have damn near run me looney for boredom during the day. I have “eaten” entire stacks of books (total read over the two week period is 25), all but napped myself into permanent insomnia it seems, and I must say, I was never […]

Health update…

A good day all around; the recount from May: – Weight is down 63 pounds (from 250 to 187) – Triglycerides are down from 527 (!!) to 153 – Hemoglobin A1C down from 10% to 5.6% – Average glucose count down from 384 (!!) to 121 The blood work today should be back from the lab by the beginning of next week. When it is, if the above numbers have improved (the Doctor is certain they will, as am I), I’ll likely be leaving off the Tricor and halving the Metformin. This is great success. And if I keep going […]
