The Type II Shuffle (an update)

Figuring out my carbohydrate tolerance was an important part of regaining focus and control – every benefit outlined in the below clip is accurate in my personal experience; unfortunately, most insurance seems to want to insist upon 2 level checks a day if you’re “well managed”. (As if getting there and staying there doesn’t require a minimum of 4 to 6 tests a day, with spikes to the routine if/when new foods are introduced to the diet).  I find it ironic that in this day of “big data” and all swirling thereabouts, even in the insurance industry, no one has […]

Zygometric (a pure seed pattern as fiction)

The dissonance present in today’s business culture is crushing us all. How is it that we cannot more clearly understand, collectively, that no method, no tool, no system, no process, no policy, no standard, and no rule will ever SOLVE an issue that is not actively and honestly engaged by every sentient affected and all relevant data at hand?   This article is an attempt to unpack the conceptual mass of the above paragraph by defining its terms and their contexts to deliver the fullness of the problems and outline the potential solutions involved.  Much of this article assumes you have a […]

The act, penultimate, rendered

She never made the time because she thought she had all the time. It never occurred to her that every moment is a gift, or that none are permanent or even guaranteed. It’s not her fault. Life happens. You get busy. You choose what is closest or easiest, what is fastest and less likely to introduce any unexpected factors that might disrupt well laid and considered plans. But there is a flawed premise sitting under all of that; it is that one could ever hope to calculate all the variables to a high confidence of relevancy… most humans, frequently myself […]

The New Year’s Exhalation

At the end, it doesn’t matter where first cause is found, who is to blame, or even why it happened. It matters only that I love you, and I have tried to get close enough to demonstrate that love for nearly two decades, without much success. It is maddening that you insist I have not tried when I can point to so many attempts, rejected and ignored. It is hurtful that you persist in false narrative when even a cursory review reveals that what is being claimed is impossible given the routines and circumstances of the time – all of […]

April Showers

In the end, it took realizing that not only did she not want me involved, it never so much as occurred to her that I would want to be involved. And, sadly, regardless my own view on things and how boggled I am that she could ever think I would not want to be, that must be it. I say ‘must be’ because the alternative is still too tender to more than nod at from a distance. She will be 30 this year. I love her and am so very proud of her… I accept that this is the reality […]

She Who Dreams (roleplay, deity origination alternarrative)

*~The peaceful smile of the woman before you is at once calming and a curiosity; her normally olive eyes are transmuted in this moment, wreathed in what appears to be flame. Regardless, she is serene, somehow ethereal and earthy all at once… a paradox. She nods and gestures to the thick pillow on her left.~ * “Welcome, friend,” the alto voice murmurs softly; “I understand you wish to hear the tale of She Who Dreams.” Taking your silence for agreement, she places her hands carefully upon her knees. An observer might note with mild amusement that the position of her […]

Self-sufficiency

Once upon a time, I was fully self-sufficient. I had to be, there was no one in the world who cared about me or what happened to and with me EXCEPT me, and I bloody well knew it. I didn’t realize until my mid-20’s that it could be any different. I didn’t realize until now that maybe it shouldn’t be. I’m re-learning; to be completely candid, I’m remembering it’s not wrong to maintain a healthy separation from those who cannot treat you honorably, inclusively, respectfully, and with care. I had forgotten how healing it is to simply tell someone that […]
